Of Anti-maskers

In its simplest form, being an anti-masker means that you are against wearing a mask during Covid-19. Anti-maskers don’t seem to care whether it’s a local government or a private business asking (or recommending for) someone to wear a mask (the latter shows the hypocrisy of so-called “free-market” conservatives).

Although annoying, I wouldn’t say wearing a mask improperly — like wearing it as a chinstrap or not covering nose — is sufficient to make one an anti-masker.

With regards to governments recommending wearing of masks, there’s nothing authoritarian about that. And with regards to governments enforcing wearing of masks, my own personal view is that this is permissible. Your rights end where others’ begin, so it seems that a huge portion of the country (U.S.) needs to go back to elementary school civics. Speaking of rights, private businesses have rights to refuse you service; no shoes, no shirt, no mask=no service.

Although, I don’t like anyone dying or wish death upon any person, we are witnessing evolution before our eyes. There are anti-maskers who are also claiming that Covid-19 is fake or a “hoax”. Some of those claiming it was a hoax have died; Beliefs>actions>consequences. In addition, some of those who don’t wear a mask have very likely contracted the coronavirus (there is evidence that wearing a mask protects the wearer and not just others).
